About

“I am unqualified and insignificant. I have nothing actually. But one qualification you can say I have, that I am fanatic to Guru Maharaj. Always where is Guru Maharaj I am trying to follow him.

The embodiment of divine love

Gurudev-BeautifulOur beloved spiritual master, Srila Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, captured the hearts of thousands around the world through his unprecedented love, affection, beauty, and charm. In every word and every movement he expressed the love, beauty, and truth of the highest plane of divinity. In his untiring dedication to the service of his Guru’s Mission, in his firm adherence to the highest ideals, in his unparalleled humility, and in his causeless mercy and compassion upon the most wretched he revealed the joy and dignity of a life of surrender, and inspired countless souls to heed the clarion call of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, jīvera svarūpa haya Kṛṣṇera nitya dāsa: “You are an eternal servant of Sri Krishna, and your only duty is to serve and love.”

This site is not focused on propagating a particular set of teachings, but rather in showing how the highest truths of divinity were embodied and revealed to the world in the form of His Divine Grace, our beloved master.

We pray it may provide a valuable resource for all of his devoted followers. Srila Gurudev would express his happiness at having once been described as a “fanatic” of his Guru, the renowned ‘Guardian of Devotion’ Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj; in that spirit, we can say that this site is for those who aspire to such devotion for our Srila Gurudev.

Site name

“Jayasri” is the name that Srila Gurudev gave to the printing press he established after joining his Guru’s Mission, Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. “Jayasri” is also a reference to the “victory flag” described by Srila Sridhar Maharaj in the poem he composed upon founding his Mission in Nabadwip Dham, West Bengal, in 1942, predicting its future glory:

śrīmach-chaitanya-sārasvata-maṭha-vara udgīta-kīrtir jayaśrīṁ
bibhrat saṁbhāti gaṅgā-taṭa-nikaṭa-navadvīpa-kolādrirāje
yatra śrī-gaura-sārasvata-mata-niratā gaura-gāthā gṛṇanti
nityaṁ rūpānuga-śrī-kṛtamati-guru-gaurāṅga-rādhājitāśā

“Displaying the victory flag of its celebrated glory, the great Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math shines near the bank of the Ganges in Sri Nabadwip Dham within Sri Koladwip, Sri Gupta Govardhan. There the followers of the conception coming from Sri Gauranga to Srila Saraswati Thakur, who eternally aspire to serve Sri Guru, Sri Gauranga, and Sri Sri Radha-Govinda in the line of Sri Rupa, chant Sri Gauranga’s glory.”
