Ravindra Krishna Prabhu, Budapest, Hungary: How a Hungarian intellectual came to the lotus feet of our Gurudev
Ravindra Krishna Prabhu discusses his first encounters with Krishna consciousness; first meeting with Srila Gurudev and the devotees of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math; the importance of the living guide; Srila Gurudev’s devotional presence; personal inspiration; challenges in the community; vision for the future and ‘pyramid preaching’.
“The greatest thing which I carry with me from Gurudev or Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math altogether is not necessarily the exclusive understanding, siddhanta, very unique ideas, or very special ways that we are doing things, but that very natural presence of Gurudev. I sometimes say that if I think about what devotion or bhakti-yoga is then I always think about Gurudev’s smile. That is something that is personal for me from him, the way he smiles or the way he is naturally present; that is something that for me to the highest level represents what is a devotee or what devotion is about, or what the whole concept of bhakti is about. So whenever I have struggle, or whatever plans I have in life, I always try to keep that kind of mood, or that kind of environment, or that kind of presence in the centre, in my heart; that somehow, whatever I do, I shall try to connect that with that mood, that presence, or that smile if you want to take it on a perceptional level.”
